Marketing Guidelines for SPIRE™ Qualified Assessors and Qualified Companies
We encourage you to communicate to the marketplace your connection to UL. If you are a company participating in the SPIRE™ qualification program, you can promote this information in your company’s marketing materials. If you are a SPIRE™ qualified assessor, make sure to share this as one of your professional credentials. These guidelines will help you use any references to UL and the SPIRE™ qualification program accurately.
General Guidelines
- Make sure to follow all in-scope and out-of-scope uses for marketing references to UL and SPIRE™ defined in these guidelines.
- SPIRE™ qualified companies may use references to UL and the SPIRE™ program only while they participate in the program. SPIRE™ qualified assessors may use references to their UL qualification only while they maintain that qualification.
- Use any references to UL and SPIRE™ only in conjunction with the SPIRE™ qualification program. Make sure all references are accurate and specific.
- Make sure that any references to UL and SPIRE™ are smaller than your company and brand name or logo.
- Individuals who simply meet the criteria of our SPIRE™ qualification program without being formally qualified by UL are not eligible to make references to UL or to SPIRE™.
In-Scope and Out-Of-Scope Uses and References to Ul And Spire™
SPIRE™ Qualified Assessors
- We encourage you to share your SPIRE™ qualification in text only on your personal business card and in your resume, email signature and personal social channels to promote your capabilities.
- Do not refer to UL or SPIRE™ on vehicles, clothing, printed or digital letterhead, or in internet domains or web URLs.
- Do not refer to having a level of expertise related to your SPIRE™ qualification.
- Do not use the UL enterprise logo or any other UL Mark to promote your SPIRE™ qualification.
- If you are no longer qualified by UL, please immediately remove all references to UL and SPIRE™ from your business card, social media profiles and sites, and all other uses.
- Do not use any UL report, letter, certificate or any other documentation in marketing or promotions.
- You may refer to yourself as a SPIRE™ qualified assessor. Use the exact capitalization with the trademark symbol as it appears here.
SPIRE™ Qualified Companies
- We encourage you to mention your company’s qualification to participate in the SPIRE™ program in your marketing collateral and social channels to promote your employment of SPIRE™ qualified assessor personnel. Refer to your company qualification in text only.
- Do not refer to UL or SPIRE™ on company business cards, in company email signatures or on company letterhead.
- Do not refer to UL or SPIRE™ on vehicles, clothing, printed or digital letterhead, or in internet domains or web URLs.
- Do not refer to UL or SPIRE™ unless UL has designated your company as a SPIRE™ qualified company and you employ SPIRE™ qualified assessors.
- Do not use the UL enterprise logo or any other UL Mark to promote your SPIRE™ qualification.
- Immediately remove all references to UL and SPIRE™ from company marketing collateral, social media sites and all other uses if any of the following occur:
- Your company no longer participates in the SPIRE™ Qualification Program.
- Your employees are no longer SPIRE™ qualified assessors.
- You no longer employ SPIRE™ qualified assessors.
- Do not use any UL report, letter, certificate or any other documentation in marketing or promotions.
- You may refer to your company as a SPIRE™ qualified company. Use the exact capitalization with the trademark symbol as it appears here.
